World Cup 3rd Planteur tries to tame Frankel

Third in the 2012 Dubai World Cup, 3.5 lengths behind Monterosso, Planteur will take his turn at Frankel in tomorrow’s Juddmonte International Stakes (G1) at York.  On the surface, the winner of the 2011 Prix Ganay (G1) seems to be up against it, but will get pace to run-on as Aidan O’Brien has entered rabbits Windsor Palace and Robin Hood.  Still, a deserving longshot against the unbeaten Frankel, a placing chance seems most likely.  Planteur has five wins from 17 starts and earnings in excess of $2.3 million.  Read more about the race from Racing Post.
