Victoire Pisa will miss Hong Kong race

Found lame after trackwork, 2011 Dubai World Cup (G1) winner Victoire Pisa has been removed from consideration for the Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup (G1) at Sha Tin next Sunday.  James Burn from Racing Post has more.

  1. Even though Victoire Pisa emerged victorious in this year’s Dubai World Cup. I’m not sure he would’ve really wanted to go head to head with the likes of Ambitious Dragon, River Jetez, and Wigmore Hall back on the turf over 10f. I know he beat one of the world’s best turf horses in Japan in Buena Vista in Arima Kinen. But that was over a 12+f trip. And frankly, Victoire Pisa got the box seat and run of the race that day, and still only managed to beat Buena Vista by a whisker. I just really think he’d get outpaced in this race over 10f on the turf in Hong Kong. Not likely they’ll go the kind of dottle at Sha Tin that they went at Meydan in this year’s Dubai World Cup.
