Tuesday Joy could make history for Gai Waterhouse

One of the top Australian trainers, Hall of Famer Gai Waterhouse will send out TUESDAY JOY in the Dubai Duty Free, who is hoping to become the third filly or mare to win the prestigious turf event (2002 Terre A Terre, 2003 Ipi Tombe).  Coming off two consecutive wins, this 5-year-old mare will make her third start off a 4.5 month layoff when going postward in the Duty Free.

When landing the Chipping Norton Stakes (G1), Tuesday Joy gave Waterhouse her 88th Group 1 win in her storied career.  A win on Saturday at what is expected to be a juicy price would be a sweet edition to her mantle of success.  No woman has ever trained a winner of a thoroughbred race on Dubai World Cup night (Gillian Duffield landed the Dubai Kahayla Classic for purebred Arabians from 2004 through 2007).  Gai Waterhouse has a decent shot at becoming the first.
