Treble Jig wins in Saudi Arabia

In his third start with new connections in Saudi Arabia, Treble Jig earned a trip back to the winner’s enclosure, landing Saturday’s Equestrian Club Board of Directors Cup (G3). The son of Gone West out of the Danehill mare, Light Jig, was ridden more patiently today by Wigberto Ramos, the first time he was partnered with the entire, known for his affinity of Jebel Ali Racecourse. Treble Jig won both the Jebel Ali Stakes and Jebel Ali Mile (G3) in 2012 and 2013, becoming the first horse to manage that feat. Watch the video of the race below with English commentary from Faris Althiyabe.

Now owned by Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz and trained by Faihan Almindeel, Treble Jig was bred by Juddmonte Farms in America. Interestingly, Juddmonte also bred the second-placer, New Line, a recent American import who had two wins, including a tidy conditions score at Saratoga last season when in the care of Dubai World Cup winning conditioner Bill Mott.
