Treble Jig caught again in Riyadh

It happened again.

After seemingly well clear in the long straight at Janadriah Racecourse in Riyadh, the dynamic Treble Jig was caught in the shadow of the wire. Making his second start of the season after being privately purchased by Prince Abdulaziz bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Treble Jig attended the pace from the inside and broke another sizable gap on his 14 rivals while well in the straight, leading over eventual winner Mister Angry by four lengths with 200 metres to go. The final margin of defeat for Treble Jig was a half-length, with a gap of four lengths back to the third place finisher. Both Mister Angry and Treble Jig carried 62 kilograms in the field. Former UAE-based runners Suited And Booted, Stubbs Art, and Youm Mutamiez finished well down the field in the handicap. Watch the race below.

Mister Angry was a seven-time winner in the UK, last racing out of Mark Johnston’s yard in October 2011 at Doncaster. It was his sixth win in Saudi Arabia since being imported for owner Nazar Anwer Abuljedaiel.
