Toast of New York gallant second in Breeders’ Cup Classic, could face Bayern in Dubai World Cup

UAE Derby winner Toast of New York has accumulated a load of frequent flier miles, and with it, a mass of credibility after running second in the Pacific Classic, and coming back to California and nearly annexing the Breeders’ Cup Classic, falling a neck short to Bayern.

Trainer Jamie Osborne indicated the Dubai World Cup remains firmly on the radar for the son of Thewayyouare, who earned more than $2.3 million this season. The race was not without controversy as winner Bayern caused interference leaving the gate, which materially impacted the pace scenario envisaged prior to the race, as Moreno was badly hampered in the incident. An inquiry of less than ten minutes left the result unchanged.

Many other horses from the Breeders’ Cup meeting are likely to be considered for a try in Dubai, including several from the Breeders’ Cup Sprint – winner Work All Week, second Secret Circle, and third Private Zone. Sprint fourth Bourbon Courage could be a good fit for the Godolphin Mile. As news warrants, we will provide more detail. In the meantime, catch the Breeders’ Cup Sprint below.

Trainer Graham Motion indicated the Dubai Sheema Classic could be a long-term goal for Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Main Sequence. Watch his Turf win below.

  1. Would love to see Main Sequence come over for a shot at the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic. Being gelded has certainly helped with all quirkiness we used to see from him prior to and sometimes during the running of his races in the UK prior to be gelded when he was still racing for trainer David Lanigan. Think he would have legit chance of winning the race.
