Tasaday looks to topple Taghrooda

It will be quite the task as Taghrooda seems a near cinch in Thursday’s Darley Yorkshire Oaks (G1) at York, but Godolphin’s Tasaday will be one of six rivals to take a shot. Tasaday is emerging from a narrow win in the Lyric Fillies’ Stakes at York on July 25, her first start since a ninth in the Dubai Duty Free (G1). Tasaday was a winner at the 2014 Dubai World Cup Carnival, just edging Empoli in a 2,000-metre turf event. Taghrooda, owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is still unbeaten from four starts and was a facile three-length winner of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, defeating males including Telescope and Mukhadram.
