Storm Ultralight purchased by Godolphin for 2010

Throughout the course of the off-season, various reports pop across the radar screen highlighting a variety of successful youngsters gobbled up by Dubai-based interests for racing in the Emirates.  Storm Ultralight, an Argentine-bred son of Bernstein out of the multiple graded stakes winning Equalize mare, Ultrasexy, was privately purchased by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Godolphin for racing at the 2010 Dubai International Racing Carnival. 

Storm Ultralight was a well-backed winner in the Clasico Lavalleja (Listed) at Maronas Racecourse in Uruguay back in April and was whisked off to Dubai shortly thereafter.  Why so soon?  Storm Ultralight was an overwhelming winner of the 1300 meters race and broke the all-time Maronas record for the distance, winning by 12 3/4 lengths in 1:15.
