Sole Power lands Temple Stakes

Sole Power, a lacklustre 14th of 16 in the 2011 Al Quoz Sprint (G2), made his second start back from Dubai a winning one when landing Saturday’s Betfred.com Temple Stakes (G2) at Haydock, a primer for what is to come in the next few months with massive sprinting riches on the line.  Racing Post has the full story

  1. If no one learned anything else from the Temple Stakes at Haydock on Saturday, I hope they learned how over-hyped and overrated a sprinter that Overdose really is!! Throw some good horses with good speed themselves at Overdose, and he wilt’s like a flower. The same thing happened to him at Baden-Baden in Germany back in August. When Overdose finished a well beaten 7th in that race, too. Behind the like of Amico Fritz, Contat, and Abbaye winner, Guilt Edge Girl. The problem I’ve always had with connection’s of Overdose is that continue to race him, time after time, against nothing field’s in Hungary and Germany. Solely to pad his numbers. If Overdose is still taken to Royal-Ascot for this year’s King Stand Stakes? He’ll be obliterated. Especially if Rocket Man makes an appearance there? TJMO.
