Sharjah Selections – December 6; Abu Dhabi Selections – December 7

Below are our selections for racing at Sharjah and Abu Dhabi on December 6th and 7th, respectively. Abu Dhabi’s card on Sunday is particularly strong, with the National Day Cups for both purebred Arabians and Thoroughbreds leading the charge. Nawwaar looks to make it three consecutive National Day Cups in the Thoroughbred ranks, a race that would have featured the fascinating return of Slumdogmillionaire, a two-time Grade 1 winner in South Africa (he was scratched earlier in the week). Good luck and enjoy.

  1. Anxious to see the reappearance of Slumdogmillionaire at Abu Dhabi in the National Day Cup on Sunday. Been awhile since he last competed back in March, 2013 when he won the G1 Horse Chestnut Stakes in South Africa.

  2. My National Day Cup picks: 1st-Master of War 2nd-Nawwaar 3rd-Slumdogmillionaire 4th-Nine Realms/Derbaas? I think Slumdogmillionaire is probably the most talented horse among the 8 going to post, but he’s coming off a pretty lengthy layoff and I suspect may need the run first time out at Abu Dhabi.
