Royal Delta, Eishin Flash dazzle on Wednesday

The Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic winner, Royal Delta, looked phenomenal in Dubai on Wednesday. She has the same look she did before her big win at Churchill Downs in November, and was just striking today when on the Tapeta.  As always, our thanks to Cedric Lane for the photos.  These and others are available for purchase HERE.

Eishin Flash was one of the first shippers on the grounds this morning, hitting the track around 5:30 A.M.  Sure enough, the vast majority of the Japanese media were present and detailing every movement.  He didn’t turn a hair in a two-lap gallop of the Tapeta, and seemed in great form.  He hasn’t won in some time, but the pace could really setup for him to get a run.

So You Think was well within himself when leading the Ballydoyle contingent on course, but was also the most lathered, and that is what made him stand out in a slightly negative light.  St. Nicholas Abbey and Treasure Beach both looked impeccable.  The contingent made a lap and a half of the Tapeta before turning in a slight canter in alignment.  So You Think is out front in the picture below, with Daddy Long Legs directly behind, followed by Await The Dawn, then St. Nicholas Abbey and Treasure Beach.

German chance Zazou, who bested Cirrus Des Aigles in an all-weather prep at Chantilly last time, went by effortlessly midway through the morning.

The handful of the morning was Lucky Chappy.  When traveling in company with Royal Delta, he was fine, but a bit high strung.  If this picture doesn’t give you an idea of how he is galloping alone, we aren’t sure what would.  He’s definitely full of himself, that’s for sure.

Later today, more videos to come from Thoroughmedia’s Simon Burgess.  The post draw is just about three hours out as of this posting.  Continue to follow us on Twitter @DubaiRaceNight.
