Richard’s Kid wins on return to US

After spending the better part of two years in Dubai with Satish Seemar’s yard, and a lack of interest in running, Richard’s Kid was sent back to the US with success, winning back in the care of trainer Bob Baffert in the Prove It Stakes (Listed) at Betfair Hollywood Park on Friday evening.  Over 1 3/8 miles, Richard’s Kid stalked the early leader and moved to lead with six furlongs remaining before drawing away for an impressive score, against, albeit inferior competition to what he faced in Dubai.  Richard’s Kid was, in fact, medicated with Lasix for the victory, a substance banned in racing jurisdictions in continents other than North America.  The win was a local prep for the Hollywood Gold Cup (G1).  Read more from Bloodhorse.
