Recapping tips, preview video, Mackenzie’s best for 2015 DWCC Night 6

Here we recap the week’s tips from all three of our tipsters, Mackenzie Kirker-Head offers her best of the day, and we confirm that Pat does NOT have to yodel as was a potential prop from last week.

Mackenzie’s Best – Race 1 – #1 LAYL

Layl was an impressive winner in his most recent start, where he secured his second lifetime win. His previous visit to the winners circle came back in 2013. After almost a full year off and a cut back in distance to 1900 meters for the first time, Layl had plenty left to draw away to a 4 ¼ length victory. He covered 15 meters (about 5.8 lengths) more than Street Act in second, and nine meters (3.5 lengths) more than Jeeraan in third. Street Act has since returned to run two solid thirds at Meydan.

Layl’s last start was his first over dirt, and the son of  Street Cry clearly enjoyed the surface and distance. I expect another big run from him on Thursday.

  1. Star of the night on night 6 for me was Tamarkuz easily, and it wasn’t even close! In his last 2 races now on the dirt at Meydan he’s absolutely demolished all comers. Not sure Sheikh Hamdan will gamble and try stepping Tamarkuz up to 2000 meters now at some point to help point him at a potential Dubai World Cup entry, but if he stays racing at 1600/1800 meters you’d have to think he’d be one of the early ante-post favorites right now for the Godolphin Mile, IMO.
