Mackenzie’s Best: Race 8 – #4 VERCINGETORIX
Vercingetorix returns off a simple hand-ride victory in the Al Rashidiya in January and faces what is maybe a sub-standard field in the Jebel Hatta, a race he won easily a season ago. This guy likely receives a similar setup to last year’s edition of the race. With Anaerobio a probable pacesetter, he should settle just off and track the frontrunners before pouncing in the stretch. While many remember his distant second to Just A Way in the Dubai Duty Free, his third in Hong Kong, behind the mighty Designs on Rome and always classy Military Attack, was as solid as a loss could be. Those three are the only horses to have bested him to the wire. He should take his second Jebel Hatta without a problem.
