  1. Hi, I’m more than excited and really looking forward to the Dubai World Cup Carnival…The Comprehensive guide will certainly be a useful tool

  2. Since the Dubai Carnival moved from conventional dirt at Nad Al Sheba to the tapeta surface at Meydan, horses who ship into Dubai just solely to run in just the Dubai World Cup itself haven’t seemed to fare as well as they did when back when it was still on dirt. The horses who ship early to the carnival that thrive on the tapeta main track seem to be the one’s who’ve been running really well in the past 3 running’s of the Dubai World Cup, save Victoire Pisa’s win in 2011. In 2010 the top 3 finishers were Gloria De Campeao, Lizard’s Desire, & Allybar. All 3 horses who shipped to Meydan early. All 3 horses who ran well in one or more rounds of the Al Maktoum Challenge. In 2011 Monterosso shipped over early but strangely prepped for the DWC by running in the Dubai City of Gold on turf at 12f, but still managed to finish 3rd. Only to come back and win in 2012. His stablemate, Capponi, also a horse who ran several big races on tapeta during the carnival, including winning the Al Maktoum Challenge Rd. 3, and finishing 2nd in the DWC itself. It’s quite to difficult to beat these horses once they start thriving on the surface. Assuming 10f doesn’t turn out to be an issue for him? I think Wise Dan has the best chance of horses likely to ship to Dubai for that one race given his versatility on all 3 surfaces.

  3. Wise Dan is a top horse and he’ll surely be a top contender in whatever race he runs at Meydan. Igugu will be the one that will mark this year’s Dubai World Cup Carnival in my opinion…watch out!

  4. I am most excited to see Animal Kingdom in the DWC. I think the Breeders Cup Mile showed just how amazing this horse is. His turn of foot is probably the best I’ve seen. If he stays sound and has a trouble-free trip, he is the winner by daylight.
