Trainer Luca Cumani could emerge from Saturday’s Churchill Stakes (Listed) at Lingfield with a new variety of options as his well-traveled Presvis runs over the all-weather surface for the first time in his career. The 10-furlong race is meant to serve as a prep for the Hong Kong Cup at mid-December’s Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races meeting. Being over the Polytrack, Cumani indicated earlier this week that a strong performance could shift the balance of his gelding’s future starts after Hong Kong.
A field of 13 are pre-entered for the Churchill, which represents the first start for Cumani’s 4-year-old son of Sakhee since a fast closing second in the Singapore International Airlines Cup (G1). Watch that race below.
