Prayer For Relief, a Bob Baffert-trained 3-year-old that has relatively flown under the radar, became American racing’s newest millionaire when suffering his first defeat of 2011 while a troubled third in Sunday’s Oklahoma Derby. After the race, Baffert has said that he might head towards the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) or potentially even wait and freshen the son of Jump Start for the 2012 Dubai World Cup (G1). Baffert has won the race twice, annexing editions with Silver Charm and Captain Steve. After winning a conditions event at Hollywood Park to start the year, Prayer For Relief won three consecutive stakes events, including the Iowa Derby (G3), West Virginia Derby (G2), and Super Derby (G2).
