Nathaniel returned from an October layoff to win the Coral Eclipse Stakes (G1) at Sandown over Godolphin’s progressive Farhh. The win was part of a treble on the day, at two courses, for owner Lady Rothschild and trainer John Gosden. Twice Over, winner of the Maktoum Challenge – R3 in 2011, was third while Dubai Duty Free winner Cityscape was fourth, and seemed to hit a wall late in the race. Monterosso, winner of the 2012 Dubai World Cup, was well-beaten, coming home next-to-last, with Dubai Duty Free third City Style a long last. Read more about the race from Sporting Life.
Earlier in the day, UAE Oaks winner Falls of Lora rebounded from a 10th in the UAE Derby to win the Coral Distaff (Listed) while late in the card, Dubai City of Gold second Cavalryman took the Coral Marathon (Listed).
