Simon Burgess of Thoroughmedia catches up with several key players for the big weekend in Singapore. Racing takes place on both Friday and Sunday, with the Aushorse Golden Horseshoe (G1) for 2-year-olds gets co-billing on the card, along with the Singapore Guineas (G1) for 3-year-olds. The two main international races take place on Sunday. Burgess talks below with jockey Joao Moreira, a Brazil-native who absolutely dominates the riding colony at Kranji. Moreira has mounts for all of the big races.
George Moore, assistant trainer for his father John Moore, discusses Zaidan’s chances in the SAI Cup, especially after some “thrashing about” on the flight down from Hong Kong.
Australian Danny Beasley has mounts in the big races on Friday, and gets up on mare New Rose Wood in the Singapore Airlines International Cup (G1) and local longshot Yin Xin in the KrisFlyer International Sprint (G1).
Steven Baster has the mount on a pair of horses who have made their way to Dubai, including Cash Luck in the Singapore Guineas and Always Certain in the SIA Cup, and Mr. Big in the KrisFlyer Sprint, who won last year’s Aushorse Golden Horseshoe.
