Race 8 – $110,000 Muthathir Handicap, 1,600 meters, Tapeta

#2 CALMING INFLUENCE won the final race of the night over #4 BEAUCHAMP VICEROY.  #8 BALCARCE NOV was third.  Godolphin’s #12 SOVEREIGN REMEDY got loose before the start and was a late scratch.

Race 7 – $200,000 Al Maktoum Challenge Round 2 (G3), 1,900 meters, Tapeta

#3 ALLYBAR took the Al Maktoum Challenge Round 2 (G3) over #10 CROWDED HOUSE.  #6 CALVADOS BLUES was third.

Race 6 – $250,000 UAE 2000 Guineas (G3), 1,600 meters, Tapeta

Mike de Kock’s $14 MUSIR won the UAE 2000 Guineas (G3) over Godolphin’s #11 FROZEN POWER, a U.S. Triple Crown nominee.  # 4 DELLA BARBA was third.

Race 5 – $175,000 Nayef Handicap, 1,400 meters, Tapeta

Godolphin’s #11 SIROCCO BREEZE took the fifth race over #3 MUTHEEB and #13 WARSAW.

Race 4 – $150,000 Aqlaam Handicap, 1,200 meters, Tapeta

#2 LEAHURST took the fourth race for Jeremy Noseda, his second win at the Carnival, and another one in impressive style.  #11 PRINCE SHAUN continued showing the good Doug Watson form with a second.  EERC Racing representative Justin Byrne indicated on ComeRacingUAE.com that Prince Shaun suffered from some congestion when he came out at Abu Dhabi and shocked in the international markets when second.   #7 ARANEL had another grand Carnival run with a third for his connections.

Race 3 – $110,000 Naaqoos Handicap, 2,200 meters, Tapeta

Godolphin’s #9 EMIRATES CHAMPION won the third and Frankie Dettori did his famous flying leap off the winner in the winner’s enclosure.  #4 #4 MONTE ALTO was second, again, and longshot #5 CAPTAIN WEBB made most of the running when third.

Race 2 – $110,000 Haafhd Handicap, 1,200 meters, Tapeta

#11 FROSTY SECRET won the second race for Mike de Kock and Kevin Shea over Herman Brown’s Italian import #9 LUI REI with #4 SO WILL I third.  Often the bridesmaid, Frosty Secret landed the spoils sitting just off the pace, as opposed to his normal spot on the front end.

Race 1 – $55,000 Al Maktoum Challenge R2 for purebred Arabians (G1), 2,200 meters, Tapeta

Doug Watson won the first race for Arabians with NIRWAN.  NIL BLANC was 2nd and VITE ROYALE was third.
