Lucky Nine just misses in Manikato

Third in the 2012 Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1), and a winner in the 2013 Krisflyer International Sprint (G1), Lucky Nine just missed in his Manikato Stakes (G1) try at Moonee Valley as the Cox Plate Carnival got off to a rousing start.

Trained by Caspar Fownes, the Hong Kong-based sprinter has kept his form after a visit to the UAE when he finished third behind Krypton Factor. Buffering managed to just hold on for the Manikato victory.
