Lucky Nine, third in the 2012 Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) behind Krypton Factor and Rocket Man, is one of several foreign shippers to Japan for the Sprinters Stakes (G1) on Sunday at Nakayama. Fifth a year ago in the race, the Caspar Fownes trainee will try to go a bit better. A son of Dubawi, Lucky Nine has been off since finishing eleventh in the Yasuda Kinen (G1) in June. Captain Obvious, a handicap winner at Meydan in January, and since then a winner in handicap company in Singapore, makes the trip as well. Little Bridge, winner of the King’s Stand Stakes (G1) at Royal Ascot, makes his first start since to lead the international contingent.
