Inxile makes all in Abergwaun win, Nocturnal Affair second in prep

Making his first start since the Al Quoz Sprint, Nocturnal Affair finished second to Dubai World Cup Carnival regular Inxile in Tipperary’s Abergwaun Stakes (Listed).  The Dandy Nicholls trainee Inxile made all the running and lengthened to win by 1.5 lengths over the ground rated soft to heavy.  Earlier in the week, Nocturnal Affair’s trainer, David Marnane, noted that the 2012 Carnival winner would not be suited by the soft going, and was using this race as a prep for the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes (G1) at York.
