Godolphin’s Rewilding given Ascot target

The 2011 Dubai Sheema Classic (G1) winner Rewilding has the Prince of Wales Stakes (G1) at the Royal Ascot meeting penciled in as a likely comeback.  Bolting to a 3.5 length win in his first start as a 4-year-old in the Sheema Classic, the Mahmood Al Zarooni trainee must be raced fresh, says Simon Crisford.  Here is more from Press Association.

  1. Really like Rewilding, and thought his run in this year’s Sheema Classic was brilliant. Especially for a first career start against older horses. Can’t get pitched in much deeper than a field like that. But I’m not certain a cut back to 10f will suite Rewilding. I really believe 12f is the optimal trip for this horse. Godolphin should seriously consider entering him in the G1 Coronation Cup at Epsom over 12f and bypassing the G1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal-Ascot over 10f, IMO.
