For the first time in memory, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Godolphin will absorb a large contingent of horses from their Australian operation into Dubai as summer preparations commence for the 2010 Dubai International Racing Carnival.
While several runners have shuttled out of Australia, this appears to be the first time a sizable group are shifted to Dubai with the intent of racing in the ever-growing Carnival. A report from Canberra-based RacingandSports.com’s racing editor Chris Scholtz noted that trainer Peter Snowden will lose eight horses while Lee Freedman has one horse being pulled to Dubai. Several group stakes winners are amongst the list of runners being sent to the desert. Overall, those being exported to Dubai include: Sousa, Aichi, El Cambio, Fravashi, Desuetude, Caymans, Imvula, Marching, and Time Thief.
