Fields drawn for all races except World Cup, few surprises

Go to this link at EmiratesRacing.com and find the fields with barrier draw for all races except the Dubai World Cup, which will be drawn at a ceremony on Wednesday from Meydan.

There were few surprises in the draw.  MARITIMER, Canada’s juvenile champion, did draw in to the main body of the UAE Derby field after Boby Di Job was not entered.  Defending Dubai Golden Shaheen champion Rocket Man drew the rail in his attempt to become the first repeat winner of the race since Caller One did it in 2001 and 2002.  GIANT RYAN and THE FACTOR, both likely speed in the race, go from posts three and seven, respectively.  Likely Dubai Duty Free favourite AMBITIOUS DRAGON drew well in post four for the 1,800-metre event.

  1. A lot of terrific talent showing up for all of these races this year!! A little surprised that the G1 Sheema Classic only drew 10 runners this year. But a lot of talent among those 10. Overall, I think the Duty Free looks like the deepest field to me. Several in that race with a legitimate chance of winning if they run to their best? I would make Cityscape, Ambitious Dragon, California Memory, Xtension, Delegator, Musir, and Mutahadee all with an outstanding chance if at their best. I also think as well as he’s been racing throughout the carnival that City Style has a shot at making the frame. But TJMO.
