Fanunalter, third in the 2011 Zabeel Mile (G2) and unplaced in three efforts at the 2012 Dubai World Cup Carnival, scored a shocking upset today in the Transformers & Rectifiers Summer Mile (G2) at Ascot on the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes undercard. Under Olivier Peslier, Fanunalter closed well down the centre of the course while another longshot, Pastoral Player, closed on the far rail, swamping favourite Carlton House in the final furlong. Two-time Godolphin Mile placer Red Jazz faded out to the back late in the running.
