The Dubai Racing Club has released the nominations for the 2011 Dubai World Cup meeting, held Saturday, 26 March 2011 at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai. View all nominations HERE. 312 horses from 18 countries were nominated for the Dubai World Cup itself, a $10 million race run over 2,000 metres on the Tapeta all-weather surface. This stage of the nominating process was free to connections. Subsequent periods require a payment to those not nominated.

If I was a thoroughbred owner, with the kind of purses that get thrown around at Meydan during the Dubai Carnival, and my horse was relatively competitive, I’d certainly have he or she in Dubai. That’s for sure. For the kind of money that get’s handed out on Dubai World Cup night, I’d get out there and run against those horses. LOL.
