Michele MacDonald, writing for US-based Bloodhorse, spoke with Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford about the operation’s former American-based runners and their likely places at the 2010 Dubai International Racing Carnival.
Summarizing the various runners, it appears as though Godolphin is pleased with Midshipman, the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) winner who suffered an injury last winter in Dubai. The son of Unbridled’s Song is being pointed to start on opening night in the first round of the Maktoum Challenge (G3). Gayego is, as expected, on track to perform in the various sprint stakes leading to the Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1). The 2009 Mahab Al Shimaal (G3) winner will make a likely return in the Al Shindagha Sprint (G3) on February 11.
Other plans are mentioned for Justenuffhumor, second behind Goldikova in the Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1), and Desert Party.
