Colour Vision wins the 2012 Ascot Gold Cup

It got a bit rough in the final stages, but Godolphin managed a 1-2 sweep of the Ascot Gold Cup as Colour Vision, with Frankie Dettori, bested Dubai Gold Cup (G3) winner Opinion Poll, ridden by Mickael Barzalona, by a half-length.  The two met in the stewards’ room after the race, which was under a brief enquiry, following some late-race bumping, which was determined insufficient for a reversal.  The win was the first for Godolphin, but an solid tally regardless as heavy favourite Fame And Glory failed to pick up over the softer going.  Read the full recap from SportingLifeUK.
