Can Asset be first to win twice since Dubai Carnival?

Based on my research of horses who have returned to the races following runs at the Dubai International Racing Carnival, I’ve yet to encounter anyone who has won twice.   Presvis came closest when second in the Singapore International Airlines Cup two weeks ago.  Godolphin’s Asset will attempt to become the first of the year.

On April 25, Asset just held in the Leicestershire Stakes (listed) over seven furlongs while hanging to the far running rail in the final 200 meters.  He is one of ten jumping in the Timeform Jury John of Gaunt Stakes (G3) at Haydock on Saturday, over an extended seven furlongs.

  1. Asset faded in the final furlong and finished fourth of 10.
