WinStar Farm’s Drosselmeyer, the upset winner of the 2010 Belmont Stakes (G1) over twelve furlongs, is being pointed towards the 2011 Dubai World Cup (G1) at Meydan. Earning his first stakes win in the Belmont, Drosselmeyer was believed to have suffered an ankle injury in trackwork following the race. Bone scans, however, revealed no serious damage and the son of Distorted Humor will be rested before beginning preparations to return to the track. WinStar won the 2009 Dubai World Cup with Well Armed, and Drosselmeyer trainer Bill Mott was victorious with Cigar in the original running of the race.
