I often refer to Gladiatorus as Ahmed Ajtebi’s “money horse.” Going into the 2009 Dubai Racing Carnival, Ajtebi was a little known apprentice jockey. But Ajtebi powered Gladiatorus home in 2 of his 3 wins at the carnival in 2009, in one of the most dominating performances I’ve ever seen a single horse produce in Dubai. Ajtebi was aboard Gladiatorus in the Jaguar XF Trophy Handicap. In his 2nd race, jockey Royston French rode Gladiatorus to victory in the Al Fahidi Fort. Then Ajtebi gave one of the most brilliant rides of the 09′ carnival. Powering Gladiatorus home in the Duty Free. Ahead of an all-star cast of turf horses. The likes of Presvis, Paco Boy, Alexandros, Bankable, and Archipenko. Gladiatorus left all of these great horses in his wake, and the legend of Ahmed Ajtebi was born!!
