The nominations for the 2010 Dubai World Cup meeting have been released, with an overwhelming number of horses passing through the free declaration phase. More than 1,900 horses, nominated 2,700 times, were placed into consideration at this first, free stage. Two more chances to nominate remain, with payment due for consideration.

LIFE IS SWEET (Dubai World Cup)
The winner of the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic (G1) is trained by John Shirreffs, better known as the handler of Zenyatta. While the super mare is not among the nominees, Life Is Sweet is writing her own story now and for Shirreffs to nominate this mare breeds thoughts of legitimacy.
FATAL BULLET (Dubai Golden Shaheen, Al Quoz Sprint)
Trained by Canadian Reade Baker, Fatal Bullet has been nothing short of sensational on the all-weather surfaces of the US and Canada, nearly pulling off an upset in the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1). Baker is not known for blindly tossing his horses in spots where he is not confident of winning, so the nomination of this fast worker is noteworthy.
WEEKEND HUSSLER (multiple races)
An Australian legend was among the nominees for a host of races, including the Dubai Golden Shaheen, Al Quoz Sprint, and Dubai Duty Free.
SACRED KINGDOM (Dubai Golden Shaheen, Al Quoz Sprint)
The Hong Kong superstar could spread his success to the Middle East with an appearance on World Cup night. Hong Kong is winless since Vengeance of Rain took the Dubai Duty Free in 2007.
